He attended MA State College as an Aviation Cadet and Emory Riddle Univ. as an aeronautical cadet. Following his discharge from the military, he attended Sparten School of Aeronautics. He worked as a commercial pilot and flight instructor.
Mr. Thompson went to work for American National Insurance Co. in 1946, where he started as an agent, after 40 years with the company, he retired 1986
