Entered into rest, suddenly, Albert Otte, at his home near Ozora, on Monday, July 8, 1940, at 2 o'clock a.m., at the age of sixty-nine years, four months and five days.

The remains lay in state at the family residence near Ozora, until Wednesday, July 10, when they were removed to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ozora, where services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. B. Kramper, at 9 o'clock a.m. Interment was in the parish cemetery.

Tuesday evening members of the Perryville and Ste. Genevieve Lions Club visited the family home to pay their respects to the departed, who enjoyed the respect of a wide acquaintanceship.

Mr. Otte was born in Ste. Genevieve County, March 3, 1871, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Katherine [sic] Grither Otte. On September 19, 1899, he was married to Elizabeth Hurst at Ozora. Mgr. Charles L. van Tourenhout officiating. Eight children were born to this union, all of whom, with their mother survive. The children are William of Ste. Genevieve, August and Robert of Perryville, Elmer, of St. Genevieve, Oliver of Ozora, Frederick, Lester and Edgar of Ste. Genevieve. He also leaves eleven grandchildren, and three sisters, Sophia (Mrs. William Friedman), of Ozora, Mary (Mrs. Henry Klein), of Ste. Genevieve and Dora (Mrs. Edgar Rudloff) of St. Louis.
