Upper Montgomery County lost one of its elder statesmen and most respected citizens with the death Sunday of Richard Edwin Darby at the home of his nephew, William C. Brown, in Barnesville. Mr. Darby's sister, Mrs. Ellen Ruth Iglehart also died the same day at the same place.
Mrs. Iglehart was the widow of Basil Iglehart, of Barnesville.
Double funeral services were held Tuesday at Mr. Brown's home, with the Rev. Guy Crook, rector of the Episcopal Church for Barnesville and Poolesville, officiating. Interment was in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
