According to his WWI Draft Registration card, William P. Abbott, a physician, b. Jul. 23, 1880, was 38 yrs. old, marr. to Marie and living in Duluth, Mn. He was described as tall and slender, with blue eyes and light hair.

In the Jan. 12, 1920 U.S. census, 39 yr. old physician-surgeon, William P. Abbott, b. abt. 1881 in Mn. was living in Duluth, St Louis Co., Mn. with his
28 yr. old wife, Marie A. (Agatin) Abbott, b. in Mn.
2 yr. old son, Agatin Abbott, b. in Mn. and
16 yr. old (maid?), Minnie Carlson, b. in Mn.
William Pitt Abbott's father was b. in Maine and his mother in Va.
Marie's father was b. in Russia and her mother in Canada.

In the April 18, 1930 U.S. census, 49 yr. old William P. Abbott, a physician in general practice, b. abt. 1881 in Mn. was living in Duluth, St Louis, Minnesota with his
38 yr. old wife, Marie A. (Agatin) Abbott
12 yr. old son, Agatin T. Abbott and
20 yr. old maid, Nancy Ross
William was 28 at the age of their first marriage and Marie was 20.
William's father was b. in Maine and his mother in Va.
Marie's father was b. in Poland and her mother in Canada.

Services for Dr. William Pitt Abbott, 74, who died at his lake home at Grand Marais on Tuesday, May 17, were conducted here at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Sydney Goldsmith Jr., rector and headmaster of Shattuck School, officiated. Burial was in the family lot in Maple Lawn Cemetery.

Dr. Abbott was born in Minneapolis on July 23, 1880, the son of Asa and Victoria Cross Abbott. The family moved to Faribault several years later, when the father, Capt. Asa Abbott served as commandant of the cadets at Shattuck School. They made their home here even after Capt. Abbott retired.

Dr. Abbott was graduated from Shattuck School and received his M. D. degree from the University of Minnesota. He established his practice in Duluth and practiced there until his retirement. Since that time he has lived near Grand Marais, where he had a lake home.

He is survived by a son, Agatin T. Abbott, Ph. D., who is on the teaching staff at the University of Idaho, at Moscow, Idaho. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Charles Newhall (Evangeline) of Baltimore, Md., whose husband was headmaster at Shattuck for years, and several grandchildren.

Dr. Abbott was an ardent sportsman all his life and was a recognized authority on ornithology.
