ALBION - Benjamin H Yates 66 of Albion died Wednesday May 13 1998 in Oaklawn Hospital Marshall.
He was born Jan 13 1932 in Greenup Ky to John Wesley and Rena Dell (Moore) Yates.
He spent most of his life in the Albion area.
He served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War.
He was employed by Springport Steel for 31 years and then by Yukon Mgs of Litchfield retiring in 1994
He married Myrtle Cole on Feb 27 1954 in Homer. She survives.
Also surviving are daughters , Gloria J Hummel of Battle Creek and Dawn of Charameda of Albion , sons Stephen, Eric s and Ricky E Yates all of Battle Creek. 11 grandchildren, and for great grand children, brothers, Paul and Charles Yates of Albion, Don Yates of Detroit, Larry Yates of Allen, Homer Yates of Phoenix and Clyde Yates of Ocala Florida. and sisters Mary Jones of Ypsilanti, Carol Salyer of Springport.
Preceding him in death were a daughter Shirley Yates, Brothers Arnold and John Yates and Sister Bernice Yates.
Member of Chris Apostolic Church He enjoyed walking, hunting outdoors and was formerly a avid bowler
Burial Fairview Cemetery.
