John F. Slaga, age 92, of Rome, passed away July 10, 2010, at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born November 14, 1917, in Omaha, Nebraska, a son of Walter and Victoria Soltys Slaga, and graduated in 1937 from Holland Patent High School. John was united in marriage to the former Bernice Phillips, on October 12, 1940, at St. Stephen’s Church.
John is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law; two sisters and a brother-in-law; a brother and sister-in-law; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Helen Polce, Stella Remick and Leona Rostkiewicz and two brothers, Edward and Frank Slaga.
