Actress. She went to Hollywood from her native Brooklyn, New York, where she became a model and did some work as a chorus girl before entering "B" movies in the early 1940s. She played opposite the likes of Red Skelton and Abbott & Costello in many of those films. In 1949 she met and was married to actor Glenn Langan until his death in 1991. In 1949 she appeared in the film, "Ladies Of The Chorus," playing the role of Marilyn Monroe's mother. It was Monroe's first co-starring role. Jergens appeared in 50 films between 1944 and 1956. They include, "Jane Eyre" (1944), "Black Arrow" (1944), "A Thousand And One Nights" (1945), "The Corpse Came C.O.D." (1947), "Down To Earth" (1947), "The Fuller Brush Man" (1948), "Slightly French" (1949), "Side Street" (1950), "Abbott And Costello Meet The Invisible Man" (1951), "Aaron Slick From Punkin Crick" (1952), "Big Chase" 91954), "Outlaw Treasure" (1955), "The Cobweb" (1955), "Runaway Daughters" (1956) and "Girls In Prison" (1956).
