Aden P. Speece, a lifelong resident of Harrisburg, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2006. He was born on September 23, 1916, in Harrisburg, to Aden and Clara (Fletcher) Speece. Aden was married to Elizabeth Shirley (Crocker) Speece of Harrisburg, who died on September 6, 2000.

He was preceded in death by his brother, David Speece.

Aden worked for over forty-five years starting with the Capital Bank and Trust Company, Central Trust Capital Bank, Core State, First Union, and what is now called Wachovia Bank. He was Treasurer in the Loan Dept. and was Vice President and Assistant Secretary when he retired at the age of 65.

He served in the US Navy during WWII and was stationed in the South Pacific.

Though not active for many years, he was a 50 year member of the Robert Burns Lodge #464, F&AM, and the Harrisburg Consistory. He held 60 years of continuous membership with the American Legion, most recently Post 730, Penbrook.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Carol A. Dauchess, wife of Anthony C. Dauchess, Jr., Harrisburg, and Linda L. Sheaffer, wife of Robert J. Sheaffer, Harrisburg; 3 grandchildren, Aden, Jennifer and Elizabeth; and 2 great grandchildren, Logan and Zoe.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Monday, September 11, 2006, at his church, St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg.

Visitation will be from 9:30AM-11AM on Monday at the church.

Private interment will be in St. Andrews In The Valley Columbarium, Linglestown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church, St. Catherine Laboure, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg, PA 17111 or St. Andrews In The Valley Nettie Platt Columberium Fund, 4620 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17112.

Arrangements entrusted to the Dailey Funeral Home, Harrisburg.
