Marcelle Fae (Johnson) Porter passed away on May 17, 2011 at her home, at the age of 68. She was born December 8th, 1942 in Prichett, Colorado. She was the daughter of the late Larson and Lottie (McAfee) Johnson. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Lonnie Johnson and Roland Johnson.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Porter of the home, 5 children, Mike & wife Tish Porter of Tulare, Calif., Phil & wife Cindy Porter of Bangkok, Thailand, Kris Porter of Harrison, Arkansas, Ty and wife Amanda Porter of Doniphan, Missouri, and Rhonda Smith of Clarksville, Tenn. She has 12 grandchildren, Ashton Shoenhair of Tulare, Calif., Josh Porter of Tulare Calif. Seth Porter of Bangkok, Thailand, Derek Porter of Garden City, New York, Isaac Porter of Bangkok, Thailand, Chelsea Porter and Travis Porter both of Harrison, Arkansas, Corey Porter , Samantha Porter and October Marcelle Porter of Doniphan, Missouri, Japeth and Hannah Smith of Cushing, Oklahoma, and one Great Granddaughter, Lily Shoenhair of Tulare, California.
She is survived by 3 sisters, Bessie and husband Benny Porter of Tulsa, Okla., Erma (Johnson) Rhodes and husband Joe of Moore, Okla. and Roberta West of Tulsa, and a brother Gerald Johnson of Tulsa.

Marcelle was married to her husband Bill, on July 12, 1960 after a 7 month pen pal relationship, and a 9 day courtship. This wonderful marriage lasted for 50 years, 10 months and 5 days. She often related to her friends over the years, that she dreamed as a young girl, that she lived in Colorado, and was picking peaches. Six years after her marriage to Bill, they found themselves living on a 10 acre peach orchard, and because of an early spring freeze, miraculously they had the only peaches in the area, although surrounded by thousands of acres of peach orchards.

Marcelle's life was an adventure that could only be told in a storybook, and that story has been told in the book her husband Bill has published called; "Do Miracles Really Happen".

Marcelle went to school in Sapulpa, and also was baptized into the Church of The Firstborn here in Sapulpa in 1951. She was faithful to the Lord, all the days of her life, and even as a child, loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a shy little girl, but after marrying into the Porter family, lost her shyness very quickly. She made dearest friends with many over the years, as she gave all she had, over and over again, going with her husband in the service of the Lord. Her friends are scattered over the United States, as is manifested by the crowd you see here today. She brought 5 children into the world, and was a wonderful mother to them, and anyone else that needed a mother. She was very much in love with her grandchildren, and wanted to be near them whenever she could, even though they are scattered all over the world, Bangkok, Thailand, Tulare Calif., Harrison, Arkansas, Doniphan, Missouri, Cushing Oklahoma.

She was one of the most wonderful hostesses in the world, and rivaled as the best cook in the world. She was one of the hardest workers you could ever find, and if you tried to keep up with her, you would soon find yourself asking her to please, just slow it down just a little bit, Please...
She loved to garden, and raised okra nine foot tall, and harvested from summertime into November of 2007 before finally cutting them down. She loved to can the apples from the tree in the backyard, and was eager to teach any of the young girls here at the church, how to can the apples so that you could make an apple pie in just a few minutes.

Marcelle was a different kind of lady, and she would have made the best of friends with all who gave her a little of their time. Her husband, children and grandchildren will miss her, more than words can say. She was brought low by her sickness over these last two and a half years, and wanted more than anything else, to go and be with the Lord. On Tuesday the 17th she finally got that wish.

Service will be 10:00 am Sunday, May 21, 2011 at Church of the First Born, Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Brother Kip Payton and Brother Danny Godwin will officiate.
Interment at Parkland Cemetery, Chandler, Oklahoma. Services under the direction of Gary Kelley's Add'Vantage Funeral and Cremation Service of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
