H. C. FRED BURMEISTER PASSES AWAY AT HIS HOME SATURDAY NIGHT

Fred Burmeister, a veteran of the civil war, died of dropsy at his home on Appleton street Saturday night. He was born in Germany and came to this country in 1854. He spent three years in New York and two in Illinois, and on March 9, 1859, he removed to Wisconsin, where he had since resided. On Nov. 18, 1859, Mr. Burmeister was married to Wilhelmina Koehn. The couple moved to a farm in Grand Chute, where they resided until nine years ago, when they took up their residence in this city. Deceased was mustered in as a private of Company G, Fourteenth Regiment, Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, at Green Bay, Dec. 28, 1864, and was honorably discharged Oct. 9, 1865. He is survived by a wife and six children, Mrs. Mary Liesch, Shawano; Mrs. Sophie Pingel, Mrs. Minnie Van Wyk and Henry Burmeister, Appleton; William Burmeister, Greenville and Fred Burmeister, Grand Chute.
