Obituary Of J. F. Daniels

J. F. Daniels, long time resident of the Moulton community, passed away a t the home near Moulton, Wednesday morning, October 5th.
James Franklin Daniels was born in Jackson county, Ohio, Sept. 10th, 1854. At the time of death was 78 years and 25 days old. He was the oldest child of William and Mary Reid Daniels. He leaves to mourn his departure the wife, two daughters, one son, two sisters, three brothers.
Mrs. Grace Lammey, of Tennessee; Frank and Delle at home; Mrs. Fred Hartwick, Moline, ILL.; Miss Rebecca at home; W. T. and G. N. Daniels, of Moulton, and A. R. Daniels, of Bentensport, Iowa. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Sherman, Charley and Neil.
He received his education in Ohio and was a teacher for many years in the public school of Appanoose and Davis counties. His gift as a prize to his students was always a testament. Among his pupils he was highly esteemed. He was at one time affiliated with the I. O. O. F. brotherhood, was a barter member of the K. P. lodge of Moulton.
He was united in marriage to Lillie Gale Nov. 26, 1896 at her fathers home near Orleans. Five children was born to this union two dying in childhood.
Funeral services were from the M. E. church at Moulton, Friday afternoon, at 2 P. M. conducted by his pastor, Rev. W. A. Wilder. Burial was made in t h e family lot at Oakland cemetery.
His passing will leave a vacancy that will be hard to fill not only in the church but in the community as well. A vacancy in the hearts of loved ones. He was a true and loving husband, a kind father, a loyal son and brother. He was a man reared under the guiding hand of a praying
mother, "A mother in Israel". He was born and reared in a christian home and was a daily reader of the word of God. Who can doubt the rising.
Child of God well done,
Thy glorious warfare past.
The battle fought the victory won,
And thou art crowned at last.
The pall bearers were his six nephews
Guy Hartwick, Craig, Herschel,
Ward, Virgil and Joe Daniels.-Contributed.
