OBITUARY: (Coldwater Daily Reporter, Dec. 13, 1950; Branch Co. Mich. newspaper) Plan Rites for Jacob F. Bolley For 2 Thursday - Funeral services for Jacob F. Bolley, who made his home in a Bethel township farm for four years with his daughter, Mrs. Floyd Miller, near Bronson [Mich.], will be held Thursday afternoon from the Fogelson funeral home in Sturgis, at 2 o'clock, with Dr. Byron F. Hahn, pastor of the First Methodist church in Sturgis, having charge. Burial will be made in a cemetery at Brighton, Indiana in LaGrange county.
Mr. Bolley is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Chester Simmons, the latter living in Coldwater; three sons, Floyd, Elkhart, Harold, Lansing, and John, Marshall; 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Bolley was born September 3, 1867 in Ohio, and was a farmer in LaGrange county most of his life until his retirement. He and Stella McCally were married June 8, 1890, at Plato, in the Indiana county. Her death occurred nearly four years ago. Mr. Bolley died Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Miller, the daughter.
OBITUARY: (LaGrange Standard) Former County Resident Dies in Daughter's Home. Jacob F. Bolley, 83, resident of this county until about 10 years ago, were conducted this afternoon at the Fogelsong Funeral Home in Sturgis. Burial was made in Brighton cemetery.
Mr. Bolley was born in Ashland, Ohio 3 September 1867, the son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Doerer) Bolley. He was united in marriage with Stella McCally in Plato 8 June 1890. Surviving are 3 sons, Floyd of Elkhart, Harold of Lansing, and John Jacob of Marshall; 2 daughters, Mrs. Floyd Miller near Bronson where Mr. Bolley died, and Mrs. Chester Simmons of Coldwater; 2 brothers, William Bolley of LaGrange and Albert Bolley of Wolcottville; and 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Most of Mr. Bolley's life was spent in this county as a farmer. He retired and moved to Sturgis with his wife, who died 19 January 1947. Since then he has lived with his daughter.
