Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at Fairview United Methodist Church, rural Annawan. The Rev. Dan Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Annawan, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
Lois Machesney was born Feb. 11, 1899, in Annawan Township, the daughter of Howard and Densie Machesney. She attended Burns rural grade school, Annawan High School and Brown College in Kewanee. Her marriage to George C. Dynes took place in her parents' home on Feb. 11, 1918, at 8 p.m. with dinner after.
Lois was a homemaker and lifelong member of Fairview United Methodist Church. She was the church pianist for 30 years and accompanied high school music contestants. She enjoyed years of traveling with her husband to all states, and Alaska twice. She also enjoyed handwork and sewing.
Survivors include two daughters and spouses, Leila and Alvin Hulting, and Dorothy and Kenneth Wildemuth, all of Annawan; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; an infant daughter; her parents; and a brother, James.
