Chester Morris Pollitt, son of James Howard and Lucy Darnell Pollitt, was born in Fleming County, Ky. on May 29, 1898 and passed away June 27, 1981 at the age of 83 years.

With his parents, five brothers and two sisters, he moved to Maysville, Ky. in 1905, where he attended Maysville public schools.

He enlisted in the Navy on August 8, 1918 at Cincinnati, Ohio, and received a medical discharge on February 1, 1919. He furthered his education by attending classes at the University of Kentucky at Frankfort, the University of Columbus, Ohio and later at Iowa State College at Ames.

On June 9, 1922 he was married to Pauline Pim. To this union three children were born.

The family lived in Amelia, Ohio until 1939, at which time they moved to a farm in Lucas County, He and his wife Pauline continued to live on the farm since that time.

Morris was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Lucas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife Pauline; three children, Frank of Belmond, and Patricia Evans and Ralph, both of Lucas; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held at the Fielding Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 1981 with the Rev. Fred Mansfield conducting. Burial was in the Chariton Cemetery.
