Monica Barbara Heisler was born on December 4, 1936 at Esmond, ND, the daughter of Nicholas and Rose (Heilman) Heisler. She was reared and educated in Esmond, graduating from Esmond High School in 1955. She then attended North Dakota State School of Science, Wahpeton.

She met and married the love of her life, Gerald Dahm, on November 10, 1956 at Wahpeton. They established their home in Breckenridge, MN. Because of Gerald's work with Burlington Northern Railroad, they never lived in one place very long and lived in many places throughout Minnesota and North Dakota. In 1982, they moved to Devils Lake and retired here. While living in Devils Lake, Monica worked in the cafeteria at Central Middle School for a time but most of her life was devoted to caring for her husband and nine children. Monica was an avid bowler and thoroughly enjoyed any home remodeling project. But most of all, Monica had a strong Christian faith and passed this faith on to her precious children and grandchildren. We are thankful for the wonderful blessing of a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Monica is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Gerald Children: Nancy Strande and her husband, Arvid of Underwood, MN, David Dahm and his wife, Angie of Devils Lake, Diane Pinkerman and her husband, Jim of Orange Park, Florida, Brenda Urness and her husband, Jeff of Devils Lake, Donna Hestbeck and her husband, Doug of West Fargo, ND, Sharon Spry of Jamestown, ND, Julie Klein of Grand Forks, ND, Michael Dahm and his wife, Connie of Mukwonago, Wisconsin, JoAnn Dosch and her husband, Troy of Glendale, Arizona, Twenty Grandchildren One Great Grandchild, Sisters and Brothers: Virginia Reierson of Devils Lake, Richard Heisler and wife, Patty also Devils Lake, Raymond Heisler and wife, Margaret of Golden, Colorado, Don Heisler, of Arvada, Colorado, Ronald Heisler and wife, Maxine, Devils Lake, Connie McCullough and husband, Bruce of Laurel, Montana.
