Born Oct. 18, 1922, near Mount Airy, he was the son of the late William Edward and Olga Jane Conaway Gosnell. He was the husband of Imogene Keiper Gosnell, his wife of 62 years.
He had worked as a dairy farmer in Mount Airy for many years and then worked at the Co-op Service Station in Westminster.
He was a member of Union Bridge Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed reading and woodworking.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter and son-in-law Karen and Hollis Edwards, of Telford, Tenn.; son and daughter-in-law Ted and Margie Gosnell, of Fairfield, Pa.; grandchildren and spouses Scott Bigley, Jennifer and John Boehm, Heather Bigley and Kwang Lee, Chanda Edwards, Gwen Edwards, Trevor and Brooke Edwards, and Hannah and Jeff Garst; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wilbur S. Gosnell, of Quarryville, Pa.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Gosnell, who died in 2008; and by 10 siblings.
A memorial service was held at Union Bridge Church of the Brethren, 124 S. Main St., Union Bridge, with his pastor, the Rev. James Benedict, officiating. Private interment was in Sams Creek Cemetery near Marston.
