Havelock Girl Dies After 7 Years' Illness

Erma Vivian Freet, 14-year-old paralytic sufferer, passed away at 9:55 o'clock Tuesday night at her home, 2017 N Street, Havelock. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Wylie Freet.
Erma Vivian had been afflicted with creeping paralysis for seven years. She had been blind for the past five years, losing her sight following an operation for a brain tumor resulting from paralysis.
On August 21, Erma Vivian would have observed her fifteenth birthday. Last year, a number of her little friends gathered at the Freet home for a birthday party in Erma Vivian's honor. Her friends sang for her, and Erma Vivian joined with them, especially when the song was her favorite, "There Will Be No Disappointment in Heaven".
Erma Vivian had been bedridden more than a year, but enjoyed a keen interest in life about her, especially church affairs. She filled two missionary banks, the money going to China for relief work there.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at the home with Rev. E.E. Barkey officiating. Interment in Wyuka.
