Alfred Vassar purchased property on Sec. 16 Road from his brother, Walter Vassar, around 1928. He and his wife, the former Susie Stephens, farmed the land and built a little home.
Four children were born to the Vassars. They were: Joan, who died as an infant; David, who has three children and lives in Camp Lake, Wisconsin; Paul, who married Marie Winkle of Stambaugh and had two sons (one which died as an infant); and Bonnie, married to Beltram Bobnock and who has four children. Paul passed away in about 1976.
OBITUARY of David Vassar 2003 (burial unknown) says Paul Vassar was his brother.
