Mr. George Emmendorfer, one of
the pioneers of this vicinity, passed
peacefully away, Nov. 28, 1909, aged
86 years and 6 months.
Born in Bavaria, Germany, he
came here when a young man, after
serving his time for the flag of his
country. Mary Duethorn became
his wife 56 years ago, and still
survives him.. Thirteen children
blessed this union. They are George
and Anthony of Layton Corners,
Mich., Mary, Mrs. Adam Wehner,
(deceased), Martin of Layton Corners,
Mich., Conradine, (deceased),
Mrs. Dennis Sonnenmayer of Lockport,
Mrs. Peter Mongold of Lockport,
Adam, (deceased), Emile of
Buffalo, Joseph of Layton Corners,
Mich., Jacob of Olcott, N. Y., and
Mrs. Albert G. Stanley of Swormville.

He setteled at Millersport, near
here, and became well to do. He
was a sturdy and industrious man, a
kind father and good citizen, He was
highly respected in his community.
His body was carried to its last
resting place by his sons, services
and interment being at Pendleton
