Death Of Mrs. Alice Lampkins.
Mrs. Alice Lampkins, wife of J. B. Lampkins died at her home 9 miles east of the city on Brummett’s Creek Thursday night March 5th. The deceased was 36 years old and a member of the Baptist church. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Richardson of Unionville. She leaves a husband, two children, a father, mother, six brothers and five sisters to mourn her loss. But we can surely say to them, Alice is not dead but sleeping. She was ever patient during her illness and had a kind word and a smile for all. She said she was not worrying at all, she was looking for a brighter future. Her infant boy had just been buried a week the day she died. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Maynard at Unionville Saturday. Quite a number of friends and relatives attended the last sad rites. The six brothers acted as pall bearers. There were many beautiful floral offerings. The relatives wish to thank the neighbors and friends for kindness shown during her illness. Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord from henceforth, yea saith the spirit, that they may rest from their labors and their works do follow them.
