From two sources I was able to put together that he was a son of Cadwallader and Elizabeth (Ellison) Colden. He married Gertrude Wyncoop in November of 1790 and they had two children. Since he was said to have been 36 when he died, he must have been born about 1762. His widow later married his brother Alexander.
