BILOXI --- Mr. Albert F. (Chuck) Porretto, Sr., 79, resident of Biloxi, died Friday, December 15, 2000 in Biloxi.
Mr. Porretto was a native of New Orleans, LA, and had been a resident of Biloxi for three years. He played college baseball at Louisiana State University from 1938-1939. He was a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy and served in WWII and the Korean War. He was retired from the automobile industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Rose Pelman Porretto, and a brother, Billy Porretto.
He is survived by his wife, Marie B. Porretto of Biloxi; two sons, Albert F. Porretto, Jr., of Gretna, Louisiana, and John R. Porretto of Biloxi; a daughter, Janine M. Wade of Bogalusa, Louisiana; a sister, Betty Sue Ruggiero of Metairie, Louisiana; and two grandchildren, Skyler and Tate Wade of Bogalusa, Louisiana.
Visitation will be held today, December 18, 2000, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Pass Road, Biloxi, where friends may call from 11 until 11:30 a.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
Riemann Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
