Born in Ascension Parish to Gustave "Gus" Joseph Bienvenu and Eva Kemp, Rosa Bienvenu grew up in New Orleans. She attended business school & went to work for the State Employment Service in New Orleans.

She moved to DeRidder in 1952 to be near her folks following the death of her husband, C. Wilbur McCullough. She worked at Fort Polk for 17 years, first in the Finance Office and later in Medical Supplies.

She retired from Fort Polk in 1978. Rosa then joined the Beauregard Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in 1980 as a Charter Member. Her areas of service were of the West Information Desk, working with the Bake Sale Fund Raisers, and making unique Christmas items to be raffled as part of the fund-raising efforts of the Auxiliary.

While she lived in DeRidder, she was very active with the Auxiliary, the Garden Club, the Business and Professional Women's Club, and the First United Methodist Church.

She became inactive in 1995, with 1,901 hour of volunteer work. After that, she lived at The Terrace, a senior living facility in Houston, Texas.
