Julia "Judi" Kaye Howard Woods, age 71 of Galesburg, Illinois died at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois.
She was born on May 17, 1939 in Galesburg to Stanley and Vera (Terpening) Schraceo. She attended Knoxville Highs School and Keithsburg High School, graduating in 1957.
She married Walter C. Howard, Sr., in 1961; widowed in 1968. She then married Lewis E. Woods in 1973.
Judi worked for Don White at Skelly's Truckstop and Don's Family Restaurant in Galesburg for 25 years. She greatly lover her job and her customers, and , sadly her work was cut short so she could face her challenge with lung cancer, which she won. However, she was never in excellent health after that.
Judi is survived by her three children, Lori K. (Denny) Jackson, Toulon, Illinois; Walter C. Howard of Wataga, Illinois; and Lynn M. (Chris) Anderson of Alpharetta, Georgia; her brother, Donald D. (Millie) Schraceo, Galesburg, Illinois; her sister, Faye B. (George) Sittler, Avon, Illinois; 10 Grandchildren, Jason, Brian and Kayla Jackson; Jessica, Timothy, Mason and Danielle Howard; Colton, Alexa and Amara Anderson; beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and a cherished nephew, David.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois.
