She was a daughter to William Riley and Marie Panzalee (Barley) Henderson. In 1957, she married Richard J. Abels, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are a Jeff Wicker, Celina; two daughters, Pamela (Charles) Archer, Angela Abels, all Celina; two brothers, David (Connie) and Steven (Sherrie), both Celina; four sisters, Patsy McJunkin, Botkins, Patricia (Barry) Baucher and Sheila (Steve) Humbert, both Celina, and Dianna Gerber, Dayton; mother-in-law, Rosemary Yaney, Celina; three brothers-in-law, Bob Perry, Celina, Jerry Abels, Denver, CO, and Tom (Lynn) Abels, Rockford; two sisters-in-law, Tina (Steve) Temple, Celina, and Mary Abels, Lima; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Deceased are four sisters, Gracie Parker, Betty Jean Rodriguez, Winnie Caldwell and Mary Perry.

She was a member of New Start Community Fellowship Church, Celina, and its Ladies Ministry. She had worked at Hoffman Poultry, Lord's Department Store and Rampsco Plastics in Celina.

Services are at New Start Community Fellowship Church, Celina, with Revs. Johnny Mobley and Rick Brosher, officiating.
