This community and Plevna vicinity were made sad Thursday eve when the news came of the accident of Jesse Stout and son Thomas of Palmyra which resulted in the death of the former.
Brother Stout had lived near here and in Plevna for over 40 years and was a highly respected citizen, a loving husband and father.
He had lived a consistent christian life, had been a Baptist for over 50 years, was chosen and ordained a deacon in North River church over 35 years ago, which office he filled with credit to himself and his church. At the present time Bro. Stout was a member of Mt. Pisgah church by which he will be sadly missed.
Funeral Friday at this, his home church, conducted by Bro. G. W. Humphrey, his pastor, and burial in the Cedar Grove (King) cemetery by the side of his late deceased wife, followed by a large concourse of relatives and friends.
The family and friends have the sympathy of the entire community.
Brother Stout has gone to his reward.
