Mr. Donald R. Allen, 63, of 2013 Nottingham Drive, died Wednesday, June 8, 1994.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Poteet Funera Home, Windsor Spring Road, with Chaplin Charles M. Smith Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Allen a native of Providence, R.I., had been a resident of Augusta since 1961 and had retired from the Army as a master sergant. He was a Korean War veteran and an investigator with the Richmond County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of Burns United Methodist Church, past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 649, and a membedr of the American Legion Post No. 178, Fleming Masonic Lodge No. 718 and the Military Order of Cooties Pup Tent No. 69.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Allen, a daughter, Donna Alberson Augusta; two sisters, Ellen Wilding, Coventry, R.I. and Edna Arnold, North Fort Myers, Fla; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be members of the military.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Richmond County Sheriff's Department, V.F.W. Post No. 649 and Military Order of Cooties Pup Tent No. 69.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice. 2260 Wrightsboro Road. Augusta 30910-0026
The family will recieve friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
