John E Cassatt, 78, died Sunday at his home, Gettysburg R3, following a lengthy illness.
A construction worker he was a native of Franklin Twp. and a son of the late Lewis and Elizabeth Jacoby Cassatt.
Surviving are two sons, John E Cassatt Jr., Gettysburg R3, with whom he resided and Ivan A Cassatt, Carlisle; a stepson, Oscar Cassatt, Orrtanna; a stepdaughter, Mrs. George Smith, Gettysburg R6; 15 grandchildren and these sisters and brothers, Mrs. Charles Snyder, Hanover; Emory Cassatt, New Chester and Mrs. Guy Naylor, Hanover. He was twice wed and both wives preceded him in death.
Funeral services Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 from the Peters Funeral Home, Carlisle St., with the Rev. Alfred Gotwalt officiating. Interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
