Mrs. Elizabeth T. Payne, 68 years of age, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Hall, 2531 Hampshire street, at 1:10 o'clock Tuesday morning. She had been bedfast for several weeks, but her condition was not critical until a few days ago.
Mrs. Payne was the daughter of Samuel Camp and Mary Lotzenhizer-Camp, and was born in New Hartford Illinois, May 7, 1854.
On October 20, 1874, she was married to John Payne. Four children were born, two of them dying in infancy. Mr. Payne died thirty years ago. Mrs. Payne was a member of Grace M. E. church. She had made her home for a number of years with Mrs. Hall.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Hall; a son, Harry Payne, of Rockport; six grandchildren: Marian, Mildred, and Merle Payne; Frances, Amelia, and Walter Hall; two sisters: Mrs. David Waffell of New Hartford, and Mrs. John Snyder of Rockport; two brothers: Orlando Camp of Rockport, and Charles Camp of Hulls; and a large number of cousins, nephews, nieces, etc.
