“George W. Milligan was born near Chillicothe, Ohio, December 20th, 1828, died at Roxabel, Ohio, October 30th, 1910. On November 16th, 1851 he married with Miss Matilda Cutright. To this union there was born one son and seven daughters, namely; Franklin Milligan, Kate McCaughey and Elnora Milligan of Urbana, Ohio; Anna Stephens of Hillsboro, Ohio; Jennie Milligan of Roxabel, Ohio, Mollie Milligan of Springfield, Ohio; and Anna Templin of Blanchester, Ohio and Sarah L. Renner, who died March 25th, 1882 at Chillicothe, Ohio. On Novemer 2nd, 1869, Mrs. Matilda Cutright died. She was a noble Christian woman; a devoted wife and mother, never to be forgotten. On October 16, 1873, Mr. Milligan joined in marriage with Miss Caroline Barr. Three sons and four daughters were born to this union, namely; George Milligan, Martha Mace, Elmer Milligan and Irene Knecht, all of Chillicothe, Ohio; Charles Milligan of Austin, Ohio; Elsie Stookey of near Frankfort, Ohio and Lizzie Cowgill of Sumitville, Ind. On January 17th, 1903 death again invaded his home and his loved and faithful wife, Caroline Bass Milligan was taken away from him. In all, he was the father of thirteen children, seven by his first wife and six by his second wife. All but one survive him. He was a member of the M. E. church at Dallas, O. He is interred at Grandview.”
