SILER CITY - Maudie Coble Hicks Welch, 81, of Red Oak Drive, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at her home.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, with the Rev. Tommy Steele officiating. Burial will be in Moon's Chapel Baptist Church cemetery.
She was a native of Guilford County, the widow of both Denver F. Hicks and Duncan Welch, was retired from Kellwood Mfg. Co., Siler City, and was a member of Siler City Chapel.
Surviving are daughter, Doris W. Justice of Siler City; son, Denver Hicks of Virginia Beach, Va.; brothers, George Coble of Pleasant Garden, J.H. Coble of Julian; four grandchildren; three great-grandsons.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the home of the daughter, Greenhill Drive, Siler City.
