Shelia Evelyn Derrick Allen

Shelia Evelyn Derrick Allen, 63, of Calhoun, died Thursday night, May 12, 2011, at her residence.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Boyd and Louise Yarber Gibbs. Her daughter, Patty Moses Striker, preceded her in death along with two sisters, Joyce Tarris and Ann Green. She served as a caregiver and was a member of United Christian Church in Cleveland.

Survivors include her husband of three years, Robert Jay Allen of Calhoun; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Trina Moses and Mark and Susan Moses, all of Athens; five granddaughters; three grandsons; one sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Jack Cooley of Cleveland; one brother, Jack Gibbs of Whitesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Casto officiating. Burial will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Mitchell Green, Brian McNabb, Tony Carpenter, Jeff Moses, Mark Moses and Blake Moses.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Ziegler Funeral Home of Athens is in charge of arrangements.

Shelia Evelyn Derrick Allen, 63, of Calhoun, died Thursday night, May 12, 2011, at her residence.
