STUMPY POINT, NC - JoAnne Hooper Sutton, of Stumpy Point, passed away Friday, October 5, 2007, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
JoAnne was the daughter of Grace (Wineken) Hooper of Stumpy Point and the late Floyd L. Hooper. She was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Jerri L. Sutton of Stumpy Point.
Besides her mother, JoAnne is survived by her husband: Willard R. Sutton of the home; three daughters: Bonnie S. Dudley and husband Buddy of Chesapeake, Va.; Ellen M. Sutton and fiancé Marc of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Valerie D. Sutton-Wood and husband Steve also of Chesapeake, Va.; one son: T. Adam Sutton of the home; two granddaughters: Nikki Holmes and husband Chris and Brittany Wood, two great grandchildren: Taylor and Trace and two step grand children: Ashley and Zachary.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday October 9, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in Twiford Colony Chapel by Dr. Gene Wood with burial in Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery Manns Harbor. Friends may join the family at Twiford Funeral Home Monday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.. "Her passing has left a tremendous void in the lives of all who knew and loved her." Twiford Colony Chapel Manteo is assisting the family.
