Zella Louise Allison, 96, a Plainfield native and mother of a Plainfield woman, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Wild Rose Hospital.

Memorial and celebration of life services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home in Plainfield, with the Rev. Gary Hilgendorf of Hayward officiating. Burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Saturday until the services.

Memorials may be made to: Garden Square Park, Village of Plainfield, PO Box 352, Plainfield, WI 54966.

Mrs. Allison was born July 14, 1913, in Plainfield, a daughter of the late Ed and Lena Gackowski. She attended one-room schools and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1925.

She was employed at a local restaurant.

She was married to Millard "Windy" Allison in Rockford, Ill. He died on July 18, 1975.

They operated a dairy farming operation in Adams County.

After his death she remained on the farm until 2004 when she moved to Harmony House in Wisconsin Rapids due to failing health. After several years she moved to Silver Lake Manor in Wautoma.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Laporte, Plainfield, and Julie (Lawrence "Woodie") Wittrock, Wisconsin Rapids; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.

She was also preceded in death by one infant son, Dennis Allen; and two sisters Vida Huber and Norma Hilgendorf.
