REISNER Arnold L. Arnold L. Reisner, died May 12, 2011, at his home in Lambertville, MI, surrounded by his family under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Arnold was born on June 2, 1928, in Deckerville, MI, to Gustav Reisner and Pauline Montey Reisner. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Muriel (Tyrrell) Reisner and his loving children, William (Ann) of Whitehouse, Ohio, Kathleen (Robert) Morber of Williamsville, New York, Maureen (Michael) Cox of Delton, MI and Ken and his friend Kim Santus of Lambertville, MI; his devoted grandchildren, Steven (Bree) Morber, Kristen Morber, and Amanda and Aaron Reisner; his brother, Carl (Bonnie) of Deckerville, MI and sister-in-law, Loretta of Largo, FL, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Gustav M. (Violet) of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Irvin of Largo, FL, Arthur (Helen) of Deckerville, MI and his sister, Ada (Ken) Wagester of Remus, MI. Arnold started his career in the Merchant Marines in 1944, working for Boland and Cornelius and rising to the position of Chief Engineer before retiring in 1970. Arnold was instrumental in the creation of the M.E.B.A. Engineer's Union on the Great Lakes, which later evolved into the Merchant Seamans' A.M.O. He was a resident of Hamburg, NY, until moving to Deckerville, MI, in 1971 and went to work for Consumers Power in Marysville, MI, from which he retired in 1983. While living in Deckerville, he was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Forestville, MI. Arnold and his wife moved to Lambertville, MI, December 2002 to be closer to family. Here he became a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Lambertville. A very special "thank you" to Ken Reisner who was Arnold's chief caretaker during his illness and to Angel, Courtney, Jeff and Melanie of Hospice of Northwest Ohio who were so good to Arnold and his family. The viewing will be Sunday, May 15, 2011, from 2 until 8 PM in the Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave., Temperance, MI. A "Celebration of Life" service will be held at 11 AM Monday, May 16, 2011, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 2843 Sterns Rd., Lambertville, MI. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, LaSalle, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations to either Christ the King Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E.
