A TRIBUTE

I have dreaded this day. However, there is joy that the result is one that our Lord has sanctioned.
As you know, Matthew Tichenor, Music Director for nine years, is stepping down this year. He does so because of his health. He has been sick for the last year and is just not able to continue on. However, as he steps down, the church has asked Ernie Brown to direct the music. Earnie does so, only until the church can find someone else.
Times like this I need words to describe my love and appreciation for this man. He has been faithful, spiritual and dedicated to singing the hymns of the "old time faith".
When he followed me into the pulpit I felt security and an uplift. He could sing down heaven; and when that was done, I had little else to say, it all came so easy to preach his word.
I'm going to miss you Matthew, you're mellow bass voice will be silent for awhile now; but one day, yes, one day, our voices shall be heard in one shout, one song. I'll remember you.
Thanks for being you, friend, companion, supporter, songster, Mr. Music Man!
