Mr. Jerry Wayne Solomon, 61, a native of New Augusta and resident of Eucutta, died Friday, May 13, 2011 at his residence. He was a member of Shady Grove First Baptist Church in Heidelberg; member of the Myrick Masonic Lodge; and had worked as a self-employed automobile mechanic. Mr. Solomon is preceded in death by his mother, Madelene Solomon; father, George Solomon; and brother, Freddie Solomon. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Solomon of Eucutta; 2 sons, Jeffery Wayne Solomon of Eucutta and Justin Wayne Solomon of Raleigh, NC; brother, Tommy Solomon of New Augusta; 3 sisters, Faye Owens of New Augusta, Retha Solomon of Petal, and Evelyn Lockhart of Savannah, TN; 2 grandchildren, Hannah and Marlee Solomon of Quitman. Visitation for Mr. Solomon will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Sunday, May 15, 2011 in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, May 16, 2011 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro with Rev. Larry Cockerham, Rev. Leon Parnell, Rev. Stanley Doggett and Rev. Sharber Smith officiating. Interment will be in Blackledge Cemetery in Jones County.
