Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at First Methodist church for Robert H. Jeter who died in this city Sunday morning, January 4, 1925 at 8:10 am at the home of his sister Mrs. Robert Bryan.
He was born in Marion November 10, 1875 to Ben H. and May A. LaMaster Jeter. He was educated in the public schools of Williamson county and joined the First Methodist church of Marion. He was married to Madeline Hurst of Mt. Carmel twelve years ago and she preceded him in death six years ago. He leaves five brothers and three sisters, namely: Ed, Fred, Cullen and Leonard Jeter all of Marion; Ernest of Carterville; Mrs. Jane Stroud, Mrs. R.F. Bryan of Marion and Mrs. Ethel Goodwin of Cape Girardeau.
He had served as a corporal in the Spanish-American War and was honorably discharged in 1899. At the time of his death he was manager of the Bryan Shoe Company in Marion. The body will lie in state at his brother's home on West Boulevard. Funeral will be Tuesday and burial will follow in Rose Hill cemetery.
