She came to Vandalia in 1887 and 2 years later, she m March 24, 1889, Carl Rahn, who survives her.
For a number of years, she conducted a boarding house.
Having no children of her own, she took into her home a neice & a Nephew, Lizzie, now Mrs Gifford, and Edward Kern, he, dying at age 5 years.
She also adopted Mabel Roberts, who along with the husband and Mrs Gifford, sister Mrs Adam [Josephine] Harter and Mrs Daniel Seibert and brother, Joseph Kerns of Keyesport, survived.
She died at her home.
Burial was in South Hill Cem.
