Rachel Lou Fields, 98, of DeSoto, MO. died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Fields was born February 1, 1913 in Fisk, MO. She had lived at DeSoto for the past 12 years. She had formerly lived in St. Louis for about 30 years. She had lived in the Fisk and Poplar Bluff area for most of her life. She attended Valley Mines Pentecostal Church of God since moving to DeSoto. She formerly was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Poplar Bluff. She retired from R.C. Can in St. Louis in 1970. She had been a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and being a grandma. She married Lee Fields on March 29, 1932. He preceded her in death on April 9, 2003. Survivors include two sons, Donald Fields of Moscow Mills, MO and Ernest Fields of Judsonia, AR; one daughter, Elma Tilley of DeSoto, MO; one brother, Gene Sutt of Eugene, OR; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM on Saturday at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk, MO. The funeral service will follow at 1PM on Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ellis Ashworth officiating. Burial will be at Shain Memorial Cemetery in Fisk, MO.
