Fenneer Edmund Brownell,90, formerly of Bridgewater, died April 8 at home in Southbury. He was the widower of Hope (Place) Brownell, to whom he was married for 61 years.
Mr. Brownell was born May 16, 1920 in Providence, R.I., the son of Clifford A. and Gertrude B. Brownell.
He served as a pilot in the Army Air Force in World War II and the Korean War, retiring as a Major.
After a long career in banking, Mr. Brownell retired as a trust officer from BankBoston.

Mr. Brownell was known for his love of family, his devotion to close friends, his diverse accomplishments and his wit and sense of humor.
Mr. Brownell is survived by two daughters, Deborah, and her husband, Martin Soresino and Sarah; a son, Fenner; a daughter-in-law Susan; four grandchildren, Caleb, Lauren, Hollis and Tyler; and a sister, Anne Brownell.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held May 21 at 11 a.m. at Bridgewater South Cemetery.
