William L. "Bill" Neal, 68, of 1241 Rosehill Drive, Owensboro, died Friday, May 13, at the Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital.
He was born in Ohio County and was retired from General Services Administration of the U.S. Government. He was a member of the Methodist church, the VFW, American Legion and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He was a veteran of World War II and served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. He was the son of the late Frank and Della Mildred Beshear Neal. His wife Barbara Nell Neal, died in 1970.
Survivors include a son, William F. "Frankie" Neal of Owensboro; two daughters, Mickey Collins of Indianapolis, Indiana and Vicki Tucker of Santa Fe, New Mexico; five grandchildren, Phillip M. Collins of Indianapolis, Elisabeth Neal, Gabe Tichenor, Matt Tichenor and Sarah Likens, all of Owensboro; three brothers, Albert Neal of Hartford, Roy Neal of Owensboro and R.C. Neal of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and three sisters, Audrey Morris of Island, Irene Tichenor of Centertown and Beatrice Neal of Christian County.
Services were at 10 a.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home, Owensboro, with burial in Island Methodist Church Cemetery. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Memorial Fund, Mercy Hospital, 1006 Ford Avenue, Owensboro, Kentucky 42301, or the Island Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Island Methodist Church, Island, Kentucky 42350
