NEW YORK - Mrs. Carrie Barnes Cone, 88, died Saturday at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn after a long illness.
The Emanuel County native lived in Stilson most of her life. She was a member of Hutchinson Longstreet Baptist Church.
Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Mary Lou Johnson and Mrs. Vivien Smith, both of St. Albans, N.Y., Mrs. Lilly M. Linder, Mrs. Helen Linder and Mrs. Nell Calles, all of Statesboro, Mrs. Sarah Lee of Portal and Mrs. Bessie Mae Ashley of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three sons, Will J. Morgan of Costa Masa, Calif, Amos Cone of Savannah and William J. Cone of Fort Lauderdale; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Trowell of New York and Mrs. Ruth Dubois of Jacksonville, Fla.; 32 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Funeral: Noon Saturday at Hutchinson Longstreet Baptist Church, burial in Cone Cemetery in Stilson.
