Alden Scott Anderson finished high school in Ivy Depot, Virginia. He attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute - Blacksburg, Montgomery County, Virginia. He graduated from Davidson College - Davidson, North Carolina. He also received a degree from Union Theological Seminary - Richmond, Virginia. Alden worked as a Presbyterian Minister and was Superintendent of Schools in Badin, North Carolina. He was buried in Stonewall Jackson Cemetery, Lexington, Rockbridge County, Virginia.

Interment services were held in Lexington Cemetery Sunday afternoon for Rev. Alden Scott Anderson, 51, prominent Presbyterian minister and pastor of the church in Badin, North Carolina who died suddenly Saturday morning at the home of his brother, Rev. Alfred S. Anderson in Camerton, North Carolina Dr. James J. Murry, pastor of Lexington Presbyterian Church conducted the services.

Mr. Anderson was born at Ivy Depot, near Charlottesville, a son Charles Harper Anderson and Sarah Scott Anderson, and was educated at Davidson College and the Union Theological Seminary at Richmond. He married Isabella Sterrett, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Sterrett of Rockbridge County.

Surviving are his wife and three children, Isabella Anderson, Laura Anderson, and Alden Anderson, Jr., all of who attended the funeral here. Also attending the funeral were Rev. and Mrs. Alfred Anderson of Camerton, North Carolina; Mr. and Mrs. Scott Anderson of Richmond; Miss. Mary Wilson, Charlotte, North Carolina; W. J. Davis, P.M.
