Ely Jacob "Noodie Boy" Carson III, 63, of Barnwell, died April 30, 2011 at The Medical College of Georgia Hospital, Augusta, Ga.

Funeral service was held May 4 in the Mole Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery at the airport. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Carson was born Sept. 26, 1947 in Orangeburg. He was the son of the late E.J. Carson Jr. and the late Lois Renew Carson. He was predeceased by his sister, Linda Carson Carroll.

He was a carpenter.

Survivors include four children, Ely J. (Delena) Carson IV of Gilbert, Lynn (Travis) Lucas of Gilbert, Tabitha (Eddie) Pilot of Sevierville Tenn. and Angela Carson of Ft. Meyers Fla.; one brother in law, James Henry Carroll of Olar; nephews, James (Carol) Carroll and Todd (Lynette) Carroll of Barnwell; 12 grandchildren and two great nephews.
