Pfc Longfellow was killed in an automobile accident while serving with the US occupational forces in Japan. His unit was among the first of the American forces to land on Kyushu Island.
Harvey was a graduate of Sonora Union High School and entered the armed forces in December 1943. He had served overseas for 13 months at the time of his death.
Before entering the service, he was employed by Henry Sanguinetti and also had worked for Frank Kurzi. Harvey's mother, Mrs. Maggie Antonini, was notified of her son's death by the War Department.
