-They had 8 children, 4 born in Missouri, Ralston (Ross) (1890), George H (1894), Iola (1895) and William (1896). The other 4 children were born in Washington state, Iza (1900), Walter (Bud) (1905) and Iva (1908). The youngest, Irene, died about a week after her birth.
-For whatever reason, the Utterback and Ralston families came out west and first settled on a ranch in the Hartline, Douglas County, Washington area. After the turn of the century the family moved to Spokane, Washington and lived at 711 S Sherman in the South Moran District.
-Records from the Spokane City Directory of the year 1911, show Liester and Ross in business as Utterback and Son in the Produce City Market Building.
-About 1928 the family moved to a ranch in the Post Falls district, Idaho. The ranch was about half way between Rathdrum and Couer d' Alene, Idaho. They later moved to a smaller place on Ross Point (the road between Post Falls and Rathdrum). Liester died 8 Feb 1940 from a heart attack while rounding up the pigs with his son, Ross. He was buried in Forest Cemetery in Couer d' Alene, Idaho.
-After his death, the ranch house was moved to Tschirley Road, in Greenacres, Washington by his son, Walter (Bud) Utterback.. Grandma (Lizzie) Utterback, moved to Opportunity, Washington in the Spokane Valley, to lived with her daughter, Iva (Aunt Iva) on Valley Way. Grandma lived a truly pioneer life. Even in her eighties, she would wring the neck of a chicken and clean it for a family Sunday dinner. She would also make great home made pies. In her later years the entire Utterback family would celebrate her birthday with a great gathering.
-Grandma Utterback died in a hospital on 20 Jun 1960. She is buried along side Liester in Forest Cemetery, Couer d' Alene, Idaho
