The 2000 index of the cemetery, "Cemetery Inscriptions of Richland Parish, Louisiana, Volume II" by Claudie E. & Betty Jo Bishop Hodges, reports the above date as his date of death and his name as "John A. Ethridge"

Grave indexed by the DAR in the early 1960's for their Louisiana Tombstone Inscriptions Series, Volume XVII, Page 106. Only a last name was recorded.

John Albert Etheridge born December 1892 to parents Albert Thurman Etheridge and Martha Melissa Halley in Union Parish, Louisiana. His father Albert Etheridge was born March 18, 1868 in Drew County, Arkansas; he died September 1, 1892, three months before his birth. His mother, Martha Melissa Halley was the daughter of John Wesley Halley and Sarah Melissa Kolb.

John Albert's uncle, William Abel Halley, married his father's sister, Cumi T. Etheridge and lived in Drew County, Arkansas.

John Albert was killed in Seringes-En-Nesle, France (WWI) August 3, 1918. He was married to Mary Alice Stewart, the daughter of James Claude Stewart and Elizabeth L. (Bettie) Gentry Stewart.

His son, Vance, was born September 24, 1917, three months before the death of his mother, Mary Alice Stewart who died in December of 1917. He was raised by his grandmother, Bettie Gentry Stewart in Lufkin, Angelina County, Texas.

John Albert had four half-brothers and sisters, the children of his mother and Stephen W. Lucas and Alvin Montgomery:

His uncle, John D. Kolb, brother of Sarah Melissa and Martha Kolb Halley was also buried in Wynn Cemetery.

Sarah Melissa Kolb and her sister Martha Kolb married brothers, John W. Halley and Jesse James Halley. They were the daughters of Abel Kolb and Mary Ann Williamson (the daughter of Abigail King and Robert Williamson).

His son, Vance used the spelling of "Ethridge" for his surname.
