Arlene L. Winters, 85, a former resident of the Hillside Assisted Living Community, died Friday June 18, 2010 at Valley View Nursing Center.

Born Dec. 20, 1924 in South Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late William and Ida Hill Hayes.

She was married for 52 years to her husband, James A. Winters, who preceded her in death in 2000.

Arlene had worked for Ray-O-Vac and C.A. Reed, and was a member of the Stroke Club.

Surviving are her children; Robert W. of Montpelier, VT, Keith E. (Laura) of Williamsport, Jane E. Cleveland of Rose Valley, Gail D. Stroble of Muncy, Ruth M. (Alden Jr.) Evans of Rose Valley, a sister Caroline (Don) Berry of Montoursville, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother William Hayes and a sister Violet Smith.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Interment will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701
