Estherville – Funeral services will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville at 10:30 a.m. Thursday for Loretta A. Ricke, 78, of Webster City who died at Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City Monday [March 14, 1988] .

The Rev. Fr. Thomas Topf will conduct the service with burial to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery. Visitation will be at 3 p.m. today at Henry-Olson Funeral Home here with a Legion of Mary Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and parish Rosary at 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Ricke was born May 9, 1909, in Sac County, the daughter of Michael and Emma Rose (Yender) Heim. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1925 and from Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls, teaching school in Sac County for five years before her marriage.

She was married to Lawrence H. Ricke Feb. 8, 1932, and the couple moved to Estherville where he was employed by the Rock Island Railroad. She taught school in Lincoln Township during World War II.

Her husband died Sept. 10, 1965, and she moved to Webster City 14 years ago.

Mrs. Ricke, a member of St. Patrick's Church, belonged to the Legion of Mary and Altar and Rosary Societies, as well as the Rock Island Women's Club. She was past president of Degree of Honor.

Surviving are her two daughters, Donna (Mrs. Joe) Bendixon [Bendixen] of Morehead, Ky., and Betty (Mrs. Donald J.) Swenson of Ellsworth, and five grandchildren: Nancy, Mary and Jim Bendixon and Tom and Troy Swenson. A brother, Irwin Ricke, of Estherville survives, as do two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Marie Heim of Auburn and Mrs. Mary Ellen Ricke of Arnolds Park.
